Ravi Shankar Prasad to launch commemoration of four years of Digital India initiative

India has emerged as a digitally empowered nation. But more needs to be done to transform everyday lives. Since its launch in 2015 by PM Narendra Modi, the Digital India initiative has achieved many milestones.

Digital India was launched with an objective of connecting rural areas with high-speed Internet networks and improving digital literacy.

To commemorate 4 years of Digital India initiative, Union Minister of Electronics & IT and Law & Justice Ravi Shankar Prasad will attend a commemorative event in New Delhi.

The minister will electronically launch SAMEER Centre for Electromagnetic Environmental Effects in Visakhapatnam, Wi-Fi enabled Campus Networks at Osmania University, Hyderabad and at North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong and release a special issue of Yojana on Citizen Centric e-Services.

On Digital India Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted,

Their main aim is to ensure the Government’s services are made available to citizens electronically by improved online infrastructure
Their aim is to increase Internet connectivity.
Even the country digitally empowered in the field of technology.
