The Russian military carried out another successful test of its Zircon hypersonic cruise missile, one of the latest additions to the country’s arsenal of weapons called “invincible” by President Vladimir Putin. The missile was launched from the Admiral Gorshkov warship towards a test target set in Arctic waters of the White Sea in northern Russia.
The missile eliminated its target with a direct hit. Hypersonics can travel more than five times the speed of sound and are much harder to track and intercept.
