The Japanese government has decided to award former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe with the highest order of Japan, the Supreme Order of the Chrysanthemum posthumously. Shinzo Abe was the longest-serving PM of Japan and he will be the fourth former prime minister to receive the decoration under the postwar Constitution.
He was conferred with the Padma Vibhushan (2021) for “exceptional and distinguished service” in the field of public affairs.
