Solution:

Let share of each student = x

Since cost of gift will be same in both situation, therefore,

→ 10*x = 8*(x + 150)

→ 10*x = 8*x + 8*150

→ 2*x = 8*150

→ x = 8*150 / 2

→ x = 600

Therefore, cost of gift is, 10*x = 10*600 = 6000
