British author Susanna Clarke has won the 2021 Women’s Prize for Fiction for her second novel Piranesi.
The fantasy work is the long-awaited follow-up to her acclaimed 2004 debut Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell.
The Women’s Prize for Fiction is one of the United Kingdom’s most prestigious literary prizes. It is awarded annually, since 1996, to a female author of any nationality for the best original full-length novel written in English.
