WHO declares coronavirus as Public Health Emergency of International Concern
World Health Organization (WHO)makes the final decision on the determination of a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). The Committee also provides public health advice or suggests formal Temporary Recommendations as appropriate. The decision taken in the second consecutive meeting of the Emergency Committee convened by the WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

The respective countries can make their own decisions if they want to close their borders, cancel flights, screen people arriving at airports, or take other protective measures.
