Wind energy: Non-conventional Sources of Energy
Wind energy has been harnessed for hundreds of years. Ancient civilizations have created primitive windmills in order to provide a better way of irrigation and pumping water from the ground. In the industrial era, wind energy was used to power pumps in coal mines and mills for grinding grains.
The improved wind turbine was able to produce significant amounts of electricity when using high speed winds under its rotating blades.
Inexhaustible source of energy- Windmills are used for grinding grain and lifting water-high speed winds rotate the windmill which is connected to a generator to produce electricity- Wind Farms are found in Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, UK, USA and Spain.
