According to the World Happiness Report 2025, released by the University of Oxford’s Wellbeing Research Centre in collaboration with Gallup and the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, India’s happiness ranking has steadily improved over the last five years. Now ranked 118th out of 147 countries, India has made a significant jump from its 139th position in 2020. This upward trend is driven by factors such as economic growth, a better perception of corruption, and increased personal freedom. However, India still falls behind Pakistan (109th) and Nepal (92nd) due to issues like lower social support and economic inequality.
