Malaria:
Malaria is a mosquito-borne infectious disease. It is caused by the Plasmodium parasite. The parasite can be spread to humans through the bites of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes called ‘malaria vectors’. There are 5 types of plasmodium causes malaria in humans namely, Plasmodium falciparum, Plasmodium vivax, Plasmodium ovale, and Plasmodium malariae and Plasmodium knowlesi. Malaria can be prevented and cured. Increased efforts will dramatically reduce the malaria burden in many places.
