On Second Saturday, 9 October people all over the world will be celebrating World Migratory Bird Day, a global campaign that aims to raise awareness of migratory birds and the need for international cooperation to conserve them. The day is observed to spread awareness for the need to conserve migratory birds and their habitats.
The theme for 2021 WMBD is “Sing, Fly, Soar – Like a Bird!”
In 2021, the WMBBD falls on May 08, 2021, and October 09, 2021. The East Asian–Australasian Flyway Partnership has been helping by taking the lead in the East Asian–Australasian Flyway. The EAAFP Secretariat highly encourages Partners to celebrate WMBD twice a year. This day is organized by a collaborative partnership among two UN treaties namely the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS) and the African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbird Agreement (AEWA) and the Colorado-based non-profit organization, Environment for the Americas (EFTA).
