Justice Mamidanna Satya Ratna Sri Ramachandra Rao has been appointed as the Himachal Pradesh High Court's 28th Chief Justice. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla delivered the oath of office to Justice Rao during a ceremony at the Raj Bhawan. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was also in present. The proceedings of the oath ceremony were conducted by Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, who read out the Warrant of Appointment issued by the President of India in both Hindi and English languages.

Early life and Career of M S Ramachandra Rao
Justice M S Ramachandra Rao, who was born in Hyderabad on August 7, 1966, has a remarkable educational background. In 1989, he received his BSc (Hons.) in Mathematics from Bhavans New Science College in Osmania and his LL.B from the University College of Law, Osmania University Hyderabad. His father is the former Supreme Court judge, Justice M Jagannadha Rao, who served as the Chairman of the Law Commission of India.
Justice Rao began his legal career as an Advocate in September 1989 and later pursued an LL.M. degree from the University of Cambridge, UK, in 1991. During his time at Cambridge, he received prestigious scholarships such as the Cambridge Commonwealth Scholarship, the Bank of Credit and Commerce International Scholarship, and the Pegasus Scholarship awarded by the Scholarship Trust, London.
Justice M S Ramachandra Rao was appointed to the Andhra Pradesh High Court in June 2012. He later assumed the role of the Chief Justice for the State of Telangana from August 31, 2021. Additionally, he has served as a Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Notably, his grandfather was also a judge of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh from 1960 to 1961.
