MPPSC Syllabus 2023 – Prelims & Mains
Madhya Pradesh Service Commission conducts State Service Exam for various positions in government agencies and offices in the state of Madhya Pradesh. MPPSC Notification 2023 was released on 30th December 2022. MPPSC Prelims 2023 application is now available from 10th January 2023. The last date for filling the MPPSC Exam form 2023 is 9th February 2023.

MPPSC Eligibility Criteria 2023:
- Candidates need to be a citizen of India.
- To take the benefits of the reservation, the applicant needs to have the domicile of Madhya Pradesh.
- Candidates must have completed their bachelor-level education from a recognized institute or university.
- The age of the applicants must be between 21 years to 40 years as of 1st January.
- Candidates of the reserved category will be offered relaxation in the upper age.
- The candidates of the OBC category will get an age relaxation of up to 3 years.
MPPSC Age Limit 2023:
- For Non-Uniformed Post
Minimum age: 21 Years
Maximum Age: 40 years (Candidates should not have completed 40 years)
45 years – For Women (UR, PwD), Men, Women (SC, ST, OBC etc)
- For Uniformed Post
Minimum age: 21 Years
Maximum age: 33 years (Candidates should not have completed 33 years)
38 years – For Women (UR), Men, Women (SC, ST, OBC etc)
MPPSC Educational Qualification 2023:
- Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University or equivalent qualification.
- Candidates possessing Professional and Technical qualifications, which are recognized by the State Government as equivalent to a Professional or Technical degree.
- Such candidates who have professional or technical qualifications, which are Equivalent to technical degrees recognized by the State Government will be Eligible for admission to the examination.
- For the post of District/Area Convenor and Tribal Welfare Department preference will be given to those candidates who have taken sociology as a subject at the graduation level. Preferred means that in the event of having equal marks, the final selection of candidate will depend on the alphabetical order who has taken Sociology as a subject at the undergraduate level.

Under the MPPSC Prelims exam 2023, there will be two papers, namely:
- General Studies and General Aptitude Test. Both will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
- Both the papers consist of 200 marks each, and the time allotted is 120 minutes or 2 hours for each paper.
- There will be no negative marking in MPPSC (State Service Exam) Prelims exam 2023 for wrong answers.
Under the MPPSC Mains examination 2023, there will be five main papers, namely:
- General Studies I
- General Studies II
- General Studies III
- General Studies IV
- Hindi
- Hindi Essay
MPPSC Mains Exam Pattern 2023
The first three papers on General Studies in MPPSC Mains Exam 2023 consist of 300 marks each, the fourth General Studies paper consists of 200 marks. Additionally, the Hindi paper also consists of 200 marks, while the Hindi essay paper is allotted a maximum of 100 marks. All the papers, except the one on Hindi Essay, is allotted 180 minutes, or 3 hours to attempt. Candidates are given 120 minutes, or 2 hours to complete the Hindi Essay paper.

Paper I – History
Unit-I: Political, Economic, Social and Cultural History of India from Harappan civilization to 10th Century A.D.
Unit-II:
- Political, Economic, Social and Cultural History of India from 11th to 18th Century A.D.
- Mughal rulers and their administration, Emergence of composite culture.
- Impact of British Rule on Indian Economy and Society.
Unit-III:
- Reactions of Indians against British Colonial Rule: Peasant and Tribal revolts, The First Struggle of Independence.
- Indian Renaissance: National Freedom Movement and its leaders.
- Emergence of India as a Republic Nation, Reorganization of States, Formation of Madhya Pradesh. Major events of the post-independence period.
Unit-IV:
- Independence Movement in Madhya Pradesh.
- Indian Cultural Heritage (with special reference to Madhya Pradesh)

- World Climate: Climate and seasons, distribution of rainfall and climatic regions, Climate change and its effects.

MPPSC Final Merit List 2023
